Description

Observation is a powerful tool in facilitating the Early Childhood Educator’s understanding of development. Observation is critical in affecting the decision making processes in the early childhood setting. Students will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of child development using observation. This course will introduce a variety of information gathering strategies. These tools will be used to facilitate the students understanding of children’s needs and interests, as well as to monitor children’s progress. To ensure effective communication and record keeping of information, a variety of electronic support systems will be explored.

Minimum C grade. Pre-requisites: Semester 1 ECEP courses.
