| Description | Students learn the historical perspective and fundamental concepts of occupational health and safety with specific reference to legislation in Ontario. Students learn to identify and recognize hazards in the workplace as well as how to remove or control them to reduce injuries and illnesses. Students take an in-depth look at the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and its application in the workplace. The evolving nature of health and safety and implications for the future of worker safety is identified. |
