Description

In this course, students will learn about hazard identification, assessment and control techniques relevant to chemical, physical and biological agents. They will learn about sampling techniques, the use of analytical equipment and other techniques for determining the risks and exposure limits of chemical agents. Students will study the importance of legal compliance as it relates to controlling chemical exposures and other hazards. They will examine the role of the occupational hygienist in controlling biological and physical hazards. Students will learn about the organ structure, the routes of entry and the impact of the workplace as it relates to the use of chemicals. Students will learn about the analysis of Threshold Limit Values as it pertains to specific industry-based chemicals.
