| Description | This course will introduce the Registered Nurse to theoretical concepts and the principles of practice of Perioperative Nursing. The learner will use the ORNAC ‘Standards, Guidelines, and Position Statements for Perioperative Registered Nursing Practice’ as the foundation for providing patient care in the preoperative, intra-operative and post-operative settings in both the scrub and circulating nurse roles. Throughout the course, emphasis will be on the provision of safe, individualized patient focused care and the utilization of effective communication skills within a multi-disciplinary team. |
