| Description | This course is divided into three parts and presents an understanding of selected physical principles relevant to electronics. Part one is a review of fundamental mechanical concepts of mass, velocity, acceleration, force, energy and power; related topics of fluids; and electric and magnetic fields. Part two deals with waves, and aspects of light and sound. Part three is comprised of "photonics" - the quantum theory of light - and its application to the field of fiber optics. |
