| Description | This course will introduce students to the operation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) which are widely used to control pneumatic devices in modern factories. The electronics power control in ESET 211 can be easily adapted to create PLC programs suitable for a variety of applications. Building on these skills, new techniques will be developed to take advantage of the expanded capabilities of a modern PLC .The components of a typical Plc’s will be examined and various configurations will be evaluated. Since any control system is only as good as good as the information supplied to it, the wide range of sensors available to the automation industry will be explored. Theory topics will be investigated in laboratory sessions using current industrial tool equipment. |
