| Description | This course covers the description and design of steam turbine systems, as well as their operation and maintenance. Water treatment, industrial uses of steam, and power plant technologies are also addressed, including the basics of steam turbines, gas turbines, combined cycle, hydro, and nuclear power plants. Beginning with the psychrometric properties of air, the course also introduces the basic concepts and systems of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). Basic electrical calculations for power engineering are also presented. |
