| Description | Experience gained in the field placement will be used to refine assessment and intervention skills. Development of a model of practice that builds on the inclusive stance explored in Practice Theory and Skills 1.Analysis of the placement role and the connections between agency mandate and structure, the social service workers role, and various intervention strategies will be a focus. Introduction of the social service workers' concept of "differential use of self" will demonstrate how self-awareness of knowledge, skills and attitudes helps individuals, groups and communities change. (3 hours per week) |
