Description | The focus of this course is to prepare AMHW learners for graduate employment in the Addiction and Mental Health sector. Learners will design a portfolio that demonstrates their individual practice model, their academic accomplishments, their practice skills and their personal and professional goals. The portfolio can be used as a tangible demonstration of their knowledge and skills to potential employers in the addiction and mental health sector. As well, learner will update their resumes and cover letters from AMHW 102, further producing a competitive resume and cover letter connected to a professional online presence (LinkedIn. Furthermore, leaners will practice interview and presentation skills through mock interviews and other engagement activities with personalized feedback. By the end of this course, learners will have a plan for effective job searching. .Learners will engage in self-reflection and real life examples, while exploring the skills, competencies and attitudes needed for a successful career in the addiction and mental health sector. |
