| Description | This course is designed to assist students in preparing for fieldwork placement and explores the Child & Youth Care worker as a professional within the context of performance standards, code of ethics, self awareness, professional identity and professional advocacy. Particular emphasis is placed on the students’ own growth and development as a professional person with a focus on the responsibility, accountability and professional commitment expected of the Child & Youth Care worker. Skills for written work, verbal communication, goal setting and reflective practice are also advanced throughout the course. |
