This course covers the Service and Preventive Maintenance practices commonly found in the commercial vehicle industry. This course will focus on identifying critical vehicle inspection items and provide criteria for declaring vehicle out-of-service subsequent to a safe Preventive Maintenance inspection. Upon successful completion of the course the student will explain the characteristics and benefits of a well-planned preventive maintenance program, describe the criteria for dead lining or out-of- service (OOS), Perform tagging a vehicle and implement a policy of preventive maintenance scheduling that conforms to federal inspection regulations.
