Description | This course provides an introduction to basic concepts and issues in operations management . To support purchasing and supply management’s role in identifying low-cost sources of goods and services, relationships with supply-chain partners, and ensuring timely delivery, it is important to understand basic operations concepts and terminology. Topics include: production processes and analysis, inventory functions, forecasting, aggregate and production planning, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), short term scheduling and world class manufacturing techniques, project management and inventory and operations control.
