| Description | In this course students will apply both practical and theoretical systems analysis, and the assessment and management of change related to chemical process safety planning and operation. Students will apply the ten rules for safe chemical processing operations related to prevention and reduction of operational risks such as catastrophic accidents and near misses associated with unintentional releases of chemicals, biologicals, energy, or other potentially hazardous materials. Students will also learn about the basic techniques of reliability and maintenance, fault tree analysis, failure mode, effects analysis, flow and block diagrams. |
