| Description | This three-week course helps students prepare to find a job in their chosen profession, with a strong focus on the journalism industry. Students will map out career paths, identify their strengths, and prepare a professional cover letter, resumé, and portfolio. The portfolio may include print clippings, television and radio airchecks, and online work. This package will serve as a template that can be modified and adapted for prospective employers. The course also covers how to begin a job search, succeed in interviews (including what to wear, etc.), and manage your social media presence and professional image. In addition, students will discuss their upcoming placement and how to make the most of it. |
