Description

Community Preceptorship Experience. Students are assigned to a preceptor in a Community based setting for a period of 6 weeks (21 hours) a week, to complete a total of 126 hours. Students function as team members in a Community setting working within the Student Personal Support Worker role. The student has a gradually increasing, safe patient care assignment to demonstrate they meet the Practice Evaluation indicators/objectives of PSHS 126. Students will work the same shifts in the Community setting with their preceptor to a maximum of seven hours a day - a total of 21 hours in a week. These shifts can be days or evenings, Wednesday to Sunday. The purpose of this experience is to consolidate learning. Overall "Pass," grade is required within PSHS 126.
