Description

Psychology of the Consumer is a course in Consumer Psychology, the scientific study of individual, social, and cultural determinants of behaviour within a globalized society. While the primary focus of the course is on psychological and social psychological phenomena, the intersection of intrapersonal, interpersonal, and contextual factors influencing human consumption is stressed throughout. Topics include decision making and cognition, sensation, perception, attention, learning and memory, motivation and emotion, attitudes, persuasion, personality, lifestyles and values, and finally the broad role that culture and subculture play in our lives and behaviour.
