Description | Within this course, learners will have the opportunity to continue to engage in self and collective reflective practice; a critical skill to have for both the learners’ personal and professional development and wellbeing, and the care and wellbeing of the community members they are supporting. By continuing to ‘step back’, learners will have the opportunity to further reflect on and in turn, work through and challenge some of the concerns, assumptions, biases, and activations they may be experiencing in field placement, and to re-imagine and cultivate the skill of problem-solving, seeing, doing and practicing from a new and/or alternative perspective. Learners will continue to build on their knowledge and grow as professionals in training by exemplifying a deeper awareness of their own personal social location, professional/self-knowledge and action, by reflecting and critically evaluating their own responses to field placement practice experiences. Through the use of reflective practice, field placement experiences and critical self-reflection, learners will gain insight into self in relation to others as an AMHW. Engaging in collective discussions, monthly reflections, and collaborative classroom participation will provide the learners with a supportive environment in which to integrate classroom teachings and practice. |
