| Description | This course helps students develop and improve upon a set of closely related communication skills needed for the recreation and leisure services workplace. It focuses on correct, concise, clear, coherent, complete, courteous and cogent expression, with an emphasis on practicing writing memos, letters, and reports and on developing speaking skills. The content that drives these tasks is crucial. Students practice each step in the research process followed by professional social scientists. As a result, students learn not only to become more critical consumers of research results but also to generate knowledge and stimulate social action through their own research. |
