Description:

Effective marketing is critical to managing profitable customer relationships in today’s dynamic and connected environment. This course provides the foundations of marketing theory, practice and trends within the restaurant industry. Students will examine basic marketing concepts and theories, and explore how different food and beverage organizations implement and practice diverse strategies and tactics. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and understanding of the role that marketing plays in the restaurant industry and to develop a marketing plan that encompasses all major components of the marketing mix. A focus on interactive technologies and utilizing marketing techniques in the world of media will also be examined.
