This marketing course focuses on retailers and retailing in the Canadian environment, both from a conceptual and practical perspective. Students learn the fundamentals of the retailing mix and of marketing strategy in a retail context. They are also provided with the opportunity to evaluate a retailer and develop recommendations to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness of their retail operation. Students also have the opportunity to examine a retailer through the lens of Environics Analytics' proprietary ENVISION software, allowing them to draw and analyze trade areas and target markets.
