Description | This is the fifth course in the CIFP’s Certified Financial Planner ™ program. Part 1 of the course provides a detailed look at the risk management process and the insurance products that are available to manage risk. Topics include risk of disability, health and long-term care insurance, risk of death, risk of property and liability losses and insurance contracts and risk management. Part 2 of the course examines the estate planning process and the many considerations and strategies involved in developing an estate plan. Topics include family relationships and support obligations, family property, wills and powers of attorney for property, living wills, forms of property interests, intestate and probate, personal trusts, estate planning in special situations, death and taxes and case studies in estate planning. Prerequisite: CEFN-901 or permission of program supervisor. (Includes exam. Course-mandated financial calculator and course material excluded. Course material is available at the bookstore). |
