Course CodeANIM-023
Lecture hours per week
Lab hours per week3
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description
This course is split in two separate components: Sculpting and Acting. Sculpting will introduce the principles and elements of design to three-dimensional forms. Using the finished designs from the Character Design course, students will sculpt the character using sculpting clay. Additive, subtractive, and manipulation techniques will be used to explore the sculptural form. Character animation is, at its core, an acting discipline. What motivates a character and how the character responds will be the object of study in this course. Students will explore the art of acting and its methods and special attention will be on how to integrate acting with animation.
