Description

This course introduces students to the essential role of self-care in sustaining ethical, effective, and compassionate practice within the care economy. Grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive principles, the course examines the personal, interpersonal, organizational, and structural factors that shape practitioner well-being. Students explore worker wellbeing and resilience through experiential learning, guided reflection, and evidence-informed strategies. Learners will develop a personalized, context-appropriate self-care framework that aligns with professional standards, community expectations, and long-term career sustainability.
