Description

Public Relations strategies today use an integrated model that combines multiple tactics built around the PESO media model:  Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned Media.  Students will learn the fundamentals of each component of the PESO model with a focus on social media PR (shared) and media relations (earned). First semester, students will explore principles, terminology and best practices. For example, students will develop a solid understanding of how journalists work and paid influencers work. Students will use their new knowledge of key publications and journalists as well as key social media influencers in various fields to develop a targeted media list for a campaign such as an event.
