This course will assist first-semester students in their successful transition to the School of Business at Centennial College by giving them an opportunity to build self-confidence and enhance their ability to achieve their academic, career and personal goals.
This course was designed to help students achieve mastery of college-level learning skills, attitudes and strategies that they will need to be successful in their academic, professional/business careers and personal life. Emphasis will be on the development of effective learning and study habits, research techniques and self-management strategies.
Topics will include the following: time management, listening and note-taking, making the most of studying from textbooks, communications (both oral and written), problem-solving & critical thinking, test preparation, use of College resources, membership on a team, and research techniques (on-line).
