Description

This course concentrates on the physiology and psychology of stress and strategies and techniques that contribute to the management of stress. Students will be introduced to the science of psychoneuroimmunology and the relationship between stress and disease. The course will focus on stress as it relates to the individual and specifically the massage therapist in terms of self-care and burnout prevention. The course will provide the opportunity for discussions, self-reflection, and the practice of personal stress management techniques.
