Description	This course provides more than an introduction to the main concepts in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. It is based on the most relevant application, tools and techniques used by the forward - thinking companies in developing proper business criteria and standards while achieving improved business performance. This course will help the students understand various aspects of integration and optimization of the total logistics and supply-chain processes as they are used in the industry. The course offers good insights with respect to possible business solutions for shifting the business culture from the functional to an overall process-driven one. Moreover, the course helps with summarizing the value of focusing on Information Business Logistics Systems which drives improved accuracy and decision-making at all levels of management. Students will be provided with a thorough explanation about the rationale for statistical process control in minimizing or eliminating non-value-added elements of the overall logistics process such as the cost of excess inventory driven by inaccurate forecasting. It is expected that the course will enable the students to apply this knowledge at their workplace in a skilful and pragmatic manner.
