This course covers the pivotal aspects of systems integration. Topics covered include, but may not be limited to, (tethered) networking, troubleshooting, programming, databases, protocols (eg. M2M, H2M, M2H), interfacing (digital and analogue), security, and operational considerations. The 'Internet of Things' provides a context of coverage. Practical expertise is gained through experiments and practice on a popular ARM-based micro-controller platform, the Raspberry Pi (which students are required to acquire and use).
