| Description | This course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of voice networks. After developing an appreciation for the history of voice and telephony, the student will begin to learn the terminology and concepts that are essential to communicate in this rapidly developing field. The course continues with discussions on topics such as local and long distance markets, deregulation, service providers and their services. We finish with a look at the future directions of this industry. The student will gain valuable project experience in designing a small office telephone system. |
