Description | This flagship course lays out the basic steps that a Producer or Production company undertakes from the inception of an idea, through physical production, to its’ delivery in the marketplace. With this course students will understand the complete framework and market in which film and television production operates. Students are introduced to the industry landscape, including both Canadian and international independent producers, broadcasters, trade organizations and regulatory bodies. Genres covered include episodic drama, reality and lifestyle, factual, children’s programming, sports, digital interactive media, and some feature film. Through lectures, screenings, in-class, and take-home assignments students will learn the basic business and production skills involved in producing Film, Digital Media, and Television. |
