Description

What is the self? In addressing this question, students will be introduced to the core concepts and theories of the self from philosophical, psychological, socio-cultural and cognitive neuroscience perspectives. Throughout the course, students will explore, analyze, compare, discuss and assess the different theories, conceptual analyses and empirical literature on the notion of the self. Students will discuss the ideas of multiple selves and the self’s identity, unity and its physical, bodily and psychological constitution.
