| Description | This course is designed for registered practical nurses transitioning to registered nurses. The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to examine the impact of current social, political and environmental stressors on the personal and professional self of a registered nurse. Learners will analyze the role of Change Theory and the Three-Factor Framework in expanding the registered nurse’s scope of accountability. By the end of the course, students will be able to evaluate the experience of registered nurses working in a complex and changing health-care system, as well as the impact of various stressors and strategies to manage them. Students will enhance clinical decision-making skills and self-care strategies through interactive, simulation- and case-based learning, and apply the knowledge gained in this course to real-world scenarios. |
