This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to automotive drive-lines and differentials. Both theoretical and practical instruction techniques will be used on various drive-line components that are required for a smooth power flow and provide differential action on the driving wheels. Identification, purpose, location, and operation of the various drive-line components will be covered during this semester. The students will also be introduced to the specialized tools and equipment required for testing, servicing, and adjustment of units.

Methods of instruction include classroom lectures, lab discussions, and a practical work assignment in the lab on a specific differential assembly unit.
