It also explores the impact video games have had on society as they become more firmly entrenched in our lives and our culture. Concepts explored in this course include: historical perspectives on the acceptance of video games, gaming cultures in different segments of society, the ethical considerations of designing, creating and marketing video games, the impact of new technologies on video gaming, representation of race, gender and sexuality in gaming, the effects of video games on the body and the mind, and the role of video games in the future.
