In this hands-on course, students will be introduced to the basic principles of visual design in two and three-dimensional media, and become familiar with the software tools used for digital design, imaging and reproduction
Students will: 
	- Learn to identify and create a clear statement of the purpose of a project 
- Be able to discuss the basic principles of colour and form in a composition 
- Develop the ability to sketch or diagram a concept, using pencil, mouse and/or CAD 
- Learn to assess the effectiveness of a design solution in terms of form and function 
- Learn and apply best practices that lead to the creation of a satisfying and successful design solution 
- Explore interface challenges and identify the reasons for the success of the most user friendly solutions 
- Undertake design assignments and submit them for peer review
