| Description | This introductory course provides a basic understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of a Network Operating System (NOS) and its organization. It will present different features of NOS, their applications and functionalities, security models and the role of network administrators. Using Windows Server Operating System, students will examine server NOS, by focusing on the Microsoft Windows Server administration. The course will include server installation and configuration, management and monitoring of various network services, file systems and update and deployment services. Students will also explore how to administer a Microsoft Server environment using GUI and PowerShell scripts and configure security. Finally, the server security will be established by using Windows Firewall with Advanced Security Features. |
