This introductory course provides a basic understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of a Network Operating System (NOS) and its organization. It will present different features of NOS, their applications, functionalities and security models. Using Windows Server Operating System, students will examine server NOS, by focusing on the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 administration. The course will include server installation and configuration, management and monitoring of various network services, file systems, print services. Students will also explore how to administer a Microsoft Server environment using GUI and configure Windows Firewall with Advanced Security Features.
