| Description | The increasing demand for broadband services such as high speed internet, corporate communications and wireless multimedia delivery, presents a great challenge. This technical elective course addresses the problems and introduces the technologies which provide solutions. The course is structured to deal with wideband signal propagation characteristics, wideband communication systems involving OFDM, Smart Antenna, MIMO channels. An introduction to wideband systems in cellular networks like WCDMA and LTE are given. An introduction to WIMAX and its applications are provided. Theory is supplemented with lab experiments using state of the art equipment for testing cellular networks and mobile handsets. |
