Wireless Networks

This course builds upon the previous courses on computer networking, data communication and wireless technology. It introduces students to Wireless Networks which are comprised of, Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) including The Internet of Things, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN). The course contents include physical layer standards, medium access control, building and securing WLAN. Wide Area Networks including GSM, CDMA, HSPA and LTE with voice and data services are also covered. Theory classes will be supplemented with labs to enhance practical knowledge in integrating, testing, commissioning, network management of wireless networks.
