| Description | This course introduces students to a range of wireless technologies, including spread-spectrum transmission, orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO), and radio-frequency management. It discusses the 802.11 MAC frame and analyses the different types of channel-access methods used in wireless networks. Wireless LAN (WLAN) management, architecture, design concepts, and requirements are covered in detail. The course also introduces troubleshooting best practices and methods for investigating Wi-Fi issues. Students gain the knowledge needed to install, configure, and troubleshoot wireless controller–based networks, wireless mesh networks, and quality-of-service implementations in wireless networks. Additionally, the course covers network security, intrusion-detection systems, and intrusion-prevention systems in wireless environments. |
