Description | This course explores pivotal roles women have played in global leadership during different periods and societies. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach and grounded theoretical frameworks, Learners will examine the historical, social, cultural, and political contexts in which women leaders emerged from ancient civilizations to modern times. Through the application of case studies and primary source analysis, students will gain a nuanced understanding of women leadership contributions to leadership and their enduring impact on society. Further, the course will explore women in leadership positions within the context of education pedagogies to create new pathways of understanding intersectionality and leadership practices. Learners will be able to describe how gender intersects with race, class, age (dis)ability and other markers of identity the context of leadership; and to articulate how these intersections influence leadership experiences and outcomes. As students of global citizenship and equity, by the end of this course, learners will have acquired insightful knowledge of women leadership contributions in leadership and their enduring impact on society. |
