| Description | This course will provide a broad survey of key non-Western music cultures. Students will be introduced to the music of Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Emphasis will be placed on cultural context and interactions with North American popular music. Students will also learn how to do their own research on music of other cultures. |
