New browser screening program a pre-launch for Cybersecurity Month
Our Cybersecurity Team kicked off an exciting month of activities for Cybersecurity Month starting October 1. They are introducing a new game-changing addition to the College’s security arsenal that promises to redefine your online safety.
We’ve all witnessed the recent surge in cyber threats, with email-based attacks such as phishing and malware being at the forefront of these concerns. But how often do users stop to consider the safety of the websites they visit? The cybersecurity team is rolling out a cutting-edge solution that not only enhances security but also empowers each employee to navigate the web with peace of mind.
Introducing Browser Isolation: your shield against malicious threats
When users encounter potentially risky websites, often lurking within emails, our web browser will now display a new Proofpoint banner. This new browser banner indicates that the website in question has failed to meet our rigorous security standards and creates a secure environment to shield you from harm.
If you believe that the website is safe, just click on the question mark next to the url address and submit your request using the pop-up web form. Someone from Information Technology Services will review and unblock your content if they can determine the website is safe.
Each step we take this month strengthens our digital community. Together, we're crafting a safer online experience. Brace yourself for a truly unforgettable Cybersecurity Awareness Month!
