On Tuesday, March 19, Student Refugee Program (SRP) student Ahmad Al Bouchi hosted a WUSC booth at Progress Campus outside the Global Experience office.
Students had the pleasure of meeting Ahmad and learning about Centennial’s WUSC Local Committee. If you’re interested in becoming part of the Local Committee stay tuned for more information or contact the Global Experience office by emailing sce@centennialcollege.ca with "WUSC Local Committee" in the subject line.
"The WUSC booth at Centennial College provided an insightful overview of the organization's mission and operations. WUSC, the World University Service of Canada, was elucidated as a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating access to education for refugee students worldwide. Specifically targeting refugees aged 18 to 24, WUSC operates in numerous countries, extending its aid to those most in need. Upon arrival in Canada, WUSC offers comprehensive assistance to refugee students, ranging from academic support to practical guidance in navigating their new environment. Furthermore, WUSC ensures that these students can continue their higher education by providing scholarships, mentorship programs, and access to various resources. The booth also garnered significant interest from students at Centennial College, with many expressing a desire to volunteer with WUSC and contribute to the local community in meaningful ways." - Ahmad AL Bouchi
