24-hour Respite Sites
A list of sites offering 24-hour respite services such as resting spaces, meals and supports. Please visit the Housing and Shelters resources webpage for a list of locations.
Warming Centres
Provides a list of walk-in locations that offer individuals a temporary place to rest, access meals/washroom facilities and explore 1:1 supports. Warming centres are open when Environment & Climate Change Canada issues a winter weather warning and/or when temperatures reach minus five (-5) degrees.

City Shelters
If you need emergency shelter, call 311 or Central Intake at 416-338-4766 for assistance.
Shelters provide temporary accommodation and related support services that assist people to move into housing. All locations are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and provide wrap-around supports, including:
- meals and laundry
- access to harm reduction and mental and physical health supports
- counsellors/case managers to develop permanent housing plans
- assessments and referrals to other community services, as needed.
Provides a list of interfaith locations that offer individuals a temporary place to rest, access meals/washroom facilities and play activities/games with volunteers. Some locations provide one (1) night sleeping accommodations and transportation to and from the site.

A referral-based service, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Safe Beds program provides individuals in a crisis living with a serious mental illness and are unable to remain in their current place of residence a temporary residential accommodation.
Referrals can be completed by community sources such as case managers, social workers, crisis workers, and medical professionals. Self and family referrals will be considered on a limited basis.
Spaces are limited and referring agents need to call 416-248-4174 to inquire about availability.

The Canadian Red Cross can provide emergency and disaster services to individuals/families who have experienced a personal emergency/disaster (i.e. house fire).
Services may include emergency lodging, emergency food, clothing, personal services, et cetera.

24-hour crisis line provides support, safety planning, information and referral to services throughout Ontario, including access to women's shelters.

Yellow Brick House for Domestic Abuse supports abused women and their children. Services include emergency shelter, crisis supports, and other supports for women and children.

You can contact the Street Outreach Van at 1-866-553-4053 seven days a week from 2–9 p.m. The Street Outreach Van (operated by Loft/Crosslinks) provides mobile services and supports for people experiencing homelessness at no cost.
