Leandro Guimaraes

Leandro Guimaraes is an esteemed Senior Account Manager, Mid-Market at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). With immense expertise in business advisory, development banking, and international trade development and a career spanning 15+ years, Leandro has explored various sectors within logistics, sales, banking, and more. This has furthered his expertise in advising businesses on financing, trade, and growth strategies.

Previously, he was a Program Manager at the World Trade Centre Toronto, where he implemented and developed various trade and growth programs. In this role, he and his team were key players in supporting Canadian exporters in consolidating international growth strategies, which included the Trade Accelerator Program, the Growth Development Program, and the Recovery Activation Program. These initiatives helped create and/or maintain an estimated 450+ jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fast-forward to his current role and his efforts continue to be incredibly significant in terms of his contributions to business growth and success. At the BDC, he supports small and medium-sized enterprises with their growth projects, playing a pivotal role in helping these enterprises access resources and expertise to scale operations and meet their business objectives.

As an international alumnus, Leandro's experience in Centennial's Global Business Management program offered valuable insight into Canada's job market, prepping him with the necessary skills he needed to soar. The program offers insights into international trade dynamics, strategic planning, and more, providing a comprehensive view of the global business landscape.

Leo is back at Centennial, this time as a member of the International Business Program Advisory Committee at Centennial College, demonstrating his commitment to education and shaping the future workforce.

When he's not working, you can find Leandro rooting for his favourite hockey or soccer teams as an avid sports enthusiast. He also volunteers at the Federation of Canadian-Brazilian Businesses as a Business Development Manager, Partnerships. In this role, he leverages his experience to engage with the community, fostering partnerships and collaborations that have led to numerous benefits for local businesses and residents.
