Student Governor Nominations open on October 2!
The Board of Governors is ready to accept nominations for the student governor position. Centennial values governors who are strong collaborators willing to share insights and lived experience to support informed, data-driven, collective decision-making that furthers the College’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
Interested candidates have from October 2 until October 16 at 4 p.m. to submit their nominations.
Online elections are scheduled for November 12 and 13.
Before campaigning, all eligible candidates will be required to complete a virtual Student Governor candidate orientation session at one of the following times:
- Monday, October 27, 8 a.m.
- Monday, October 27, noon
- Monday, October 27, 3 p.m.
You are eligible to stand for election if you are:
- A fee-paying, full-time student who has completed the first semester and who is enrolled in a program of study at Centennial when the Board term begins;
- In good academic standing with a 3.0 (or higher) Grade Point Average in your last term; and
- Up-to-date with all financial obligations to Centennial College.
Assets to your candidacy:
- Sufficient time left in your program before graduation to complete the full two-year board term;
- Leadership acumen from involvement in programs offered through the Centennial Leadership Academy or other training;
- Familiarity with budgets and knowledge of College operations and
- Ability to foster an inclusive environment, encourage diverse opinions and approaches and engage actively in collective decision-making.
Campaign Rules
- Posting campaign materials must comply with the Centennial College Posting Policy.
