Centennial College, Ontario’s first public college, is seeking an engaged and strategic leader to join its Board of Governors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise to the effective governance and oversight of an institution that transforms lives and drives community growth. We are currently recruiting for one board position to complete one-year term on a three-year term (September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027), offering an immediate entry point into college governance.

The Role: Board Governor

As a member of the Board of Governors, you will provide critical guidance on policy, strategic direction, and fiscal oversight. You will help ensure Centennial continues to meet its educational mission while adapting to the future of work and learning.

Key Commitments

  • Dedicating approximately 8-10 hours per month to board responsibilities.
  • Attending and actively participating in board meetings, committee meetings, retreats, and key college events.
  • Engaging in onboarding, professional development, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Providing strategic insight and stewardship to support the college’s leadership.

Your Profile

We are seeking individuals who share our mission and demonstrate strategic thinking. While governance experience is valued, we strongly encourage applications from community and industry leaders who can contribute fresh perspectives. Added value will be found in expertise in one or more of the following strategic areas:

  • Legal
  • Construction and Asset Management
  • Environmental and Climate Science
  • IT and Cyber Security
