Gabriel Bedard

GCEI Learning Advisor

Growing up in a small town and within the Catholic faith made it very difficult to come out to myself and to others. At the age of 18 I moved to the big city of Vancouver and it was there that I began my journey of finding my queer identity and community. It was being queer and seeing the inequities in the world that motivated me to fight against oppression in everything I do, including my professional life. Today, I live a fully open life in my personal and professional life and have been with my partner for 25 years. I have been with Centennial College for 12 years as a Global Citizenship & Equity Learning Advisor and am very proud of the work that Centennial has done over the years to make the institution more inclusive and equitable to queer staff and students.
