You want to make the right choice when it comes to your post-secondary education. You want to learn, you want to better yourself, and you want career success. At Centennial College, our unique way of approaching education can grant you these things, and set you up for a bright future. Here’s what we offer that’ll put you on the path to personal and professional success.
You get a skills-based education
Learning for learning’s sake is great, but you also need a job when it’s all over. That’s why, no matter what you’re taking at Centennial College, our education focuses on professional skills development, which means hands-on skills. One of our mottos is "educating you for career success," which means that you don’t just learn the theory, you also learn how to do the jobs your career requires, and graduate ready to launch that career.
We have the facilities to teach you those skills
Between our four major campuses, we have a variety of labs and equipment to make sure that when you’re practicing your skills, you’re practicing them in as close to a simulation of your eventual career as possible. For example, if you’re in engineering technology, we have mechanical labs. If you’re in transportation, you can get hands-on time with newer vehicles. For animation, we have computer labs. Culinary arts, we have a teaching restaurant. For nursing, we have a simulated hospital floor. And so much more!
We keep our programs up-to-date with the current industry
In order to make sure that the programs you’re taking teach you current, relevant skills, we work closely with businesses and industry to ensure that our programs are relevant to the current workplace, and what those employers need. Each program has a Program Advisory Committee made up of industry veterans, and they help shape the content you learn. Some of these professionals even teach the programs, helping you connect more directly to the industry. Speaking of that…
We help you forge career connections
We don’t just give you the skills you need to get the career you want, we help bridge you into that career. Many of our programs directly link you to industry through internships, co-op and applied research. These initiatives help you gain those all-important essential skills and help you make the connections to get your career moving.
We give you a globally-focused education
We’re recognized as one of the most culturally diverse post-secondary institutions in Canada, and because of that, our education is taught with a global perspective, the goal being how you can apply your skills worldwide, and use them for social good. You can also be exposed to new learning opportunities abroad by participating special Global Citizenship and Education activities to develop your global and social leadership skills, including assignments overseas through our GCELE program.
